This retractable is inexpensive, but well-designed. The cable itself is completely flat and stretches almost five feet. It extends and retracts perfectly without any kinking. I bought it because when I left my regular ethernet cable in my study carrell at the library at my university, the library staff thought it was theirs and took it. Now I can carry this in a small pocket of my backpack and I have no more fear that it will be stolen. (Posted on 9/1/09)

I always carried a 5' length of ethernet cable in my laptop bag for those occasions when wi-fi was not available and cable was the only way to connect. This device is a great replacement for the bulky roll of cable. The body is about the size of a small plastic container of dental floss, and of course the plugs stick out on each end. It takes up practically no room in the laptop bag, and it works perfectly. Well worth the price + shipping! (Posted on 4/21/09)
